What the Wall Art Size Calculator actually calculates
The minimum, target, and maximum widths are fixed at 60, 68, and 75 percent of the reference width. Arrangement changes only the placement note, not those ratios. The tool does not calculate artwork height, hanging elevation, weight, or clearance from sconces and other wall features.
The calculation path
A common design range uses 60–75% of the furniture or available wall width.
Inputs that can change the answer
- Furniture or wall width: Enter furniture or wall width in m.
- Art arrangement: Select the applicable art arrangement from the listed choices.
Checks that stay outside the formula
Treat a grouped gallery as one visual rectangle when judging its scale.
A practical order for entering the data
- Measure the width of the furniture below the art or the usable open wall.
- Choose a single artwork, pair, or gallery grouping.
- Mark the suggested overall width range with tape, including frame edges and gaps within a group.

Engine check using the prefilled sample
Worked example: furniture or wall width = 2.2 m and art arrangement = Single artwork. Replace the sample wall and item dimensions with the exact section and product format involved in your layout.
